Now Accepting Applications Public Service Scholarship

All applications for the Public Service Scholarship should be submitted no later than 01/05/2026.
From judges to clerks, government employees are critical for maintaining a safe and orderly society. At Melehy & Associates LLC, we recognize the vital role local, state, and national government workers play in providing essential services to the public. To promote this ideal, we have established the Public Service Scholarship for students committed to pursuing careers in government service.
The Public Service Scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. One deserving applicant will be awarded $1,000 to support their education as they prepare for a future as a government employee. Eligibility
When reviewing applications, we will only consider students who meet all of the following criteria:
- You must be pursuing a degree related to public service or intend on using your degree to pursue a career in public service
- You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in college or university within the U.S. for the Spring 2026 semester.
- You must be at least 17 years old.
- You must be a citizen of the United States.

Submitting an Application
All interested students must submit an essay response to the question on the right in approximately 500 words:
In addition to your essay, you must include proof of your enrollment at an accredited institution in the form of an acceptance letter, unofficial transcript, or other similar documentation. You must also submit evidence of your most recently achieved GPA, your resume, and a headshot we may share when announcing our winner.
All materials must be submitted prior to 11:59PM on January 5, 2026.

The Evaluation Process
Our judges will evaluate your essay response based on the following criteria:
- Does your essay clearly respond to the entire prompt?
- Do you offer a compelling story about your future career?
- Do you lay out your essay response in a coherent, organized manner?
Approximately one month after the final deadline, we will notify the winner of the scholarship via email at scholarships@melehylaw.com.
