Vincent Melehy, a partner in the law firm of Melehy & Associates, is a highly experienced trial and appellate attorney who practices employment, real estate, civil rights, and corporate law throughout Maryland (including Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, and Charles Counties) and Washington, D.C. Mr. Melehy began his legal career in 1987, when he served as a judicial law clerk to Maryland Court of Appeals Judge William H. Adkins, II. In 1988, after his one-year appointment ended, Mr. Melehy took a position with the Maryland Attorney General’s Office as a litigation and trial attorney.

Mr. Melehy left the Attorney General’s Office in 1997 to begin a career in private practice, where he focused primarily on employment litigation. Mr. Melehy has extensive knowledge regarding federal and local anti-discrimination statutes and on countless occasions has succeeded in proving discrimination. A large portion of Mr. Melehy’s employment law practice involves representation of federal employees in federal court, before the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC), and before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). He also represents many District of Columbia employees in various disputes with the District of Columbia government. Mr. Melehy has also represented many private sector plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases, wage and hour disputes, and other actions concerning the terms and conditions of employment.

Mr. Melehy and his law firm have represented countless employees in litigation and jury trials in both state and federal court. He has extensive appellate experience in Maryland and the District of Columbia, which has resulted in many precedent-setting decisions.
